Learn More About Doctor Joseph Kundukulam
Dr. Joseph Kundukulam is a double board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician who trained at an ACGME accredited Pain Medicine fellowship. He was raised in Atlanta, GA and finished his undergraduate studies and medical school in Alabama.
Dr. Kundukulam completed his Anesthesiology Residency and Pain Medicine fellowship both at the University of Michigan Health System, ranked as one of the top hospital systems in the country. During his training, he learned the latest techniques in ultrasound-guided pain interventions and participated in workshops on neuromodulation techniques.
“I am inspired by the medical quote from Dr. Edward Trudeau, “To cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always,” and strive to make this my personal philosophy.”
Most importantly, he works with his patients to develop an individualized pain management plan because at the end of the day, he is treating the patient first and the disease second.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kundukulam enjoys running and would love to qualify for the Boston Marathon one day. His other interests including watching movies, traveling with his family, and cooking (but mostly eating what his wife cooks)!
